  • Michelle Thorne — Festival Lead

    michelle_thorneMichelle Thorne is Mozilla’s Global Event Strategist, aiming to grow communities around open web projects through live events. She helps local organizers host anything from small meet-ups to larger design jams and hackathons, which bring together web makers of various stripes to build, make, and learn from each other. She chaordinates Mozilla’s annual festival and co-chaired last year’s Mozilla Festival on Learning, Freedom, and the Web. Previously, she worked as Creative Commons’ International Project Manager and is a trustee of the Awesome Foundation Berlin, a lightweight association to fund small projects.   • Alexandra Deschamps-Sonsino — Local Producer

    Alex Deschamps-SonsinoAlexandra Deschamps-Sonsino is a product designer & entrepreneur. She co-founded Tinker, a smart product design studio, focused on creating product experiences that linked the digital to the physical.     Allen GunnAllen Gunn is Executive Director of Aspiration in San Francisco, USA, and works to help NGOs, activists, foundations and software developers make more effective use of technology for social change.   • Ben Moskowitz — Mozilla Media Lead

    Ben Moskowitz works for Mozilla on projects like Popcorn, the Knight-Mozilla fellowships program, Universal Subtitles, the Open Video Conference, and more. He also does a bunch of cool stuff on the side. You can contact him about Mozilla’s media-related projects and in general to discuss, build, and test ideas.

  • Desigan “Dees” Chinniah — Festival Firestarter

    Dees is a Firestarter at Mozilla to engage with the communities of the project. He co-initiated Design Jams, one-or-two-day design sessions during which people team up to tackle engaging User Experience (UX) challenges, from whose format the Mozilla Festival borrows heavily. An all-round semi-decent geek living in London, Dees evolves within a magical world of conference calls, IRC and cross-Atlantic flights. When he’s not at his computer, he can be found sporting, snapping pictures or entertaining the kids, but not at the same time.   • Geoffrey MacDougall — Partnerships

    Geoffrey MacDougall leads partnership development for the Mozilla Foundation. He specializes in building relationships across the private, public, and not-for-profit sectors. Prior to joining Mozilla, Geoffrey plied his craft in the games and aerospace industries, the non-profit tech community, and the broader UN system.     Diana Proca is an entrepreneur and an event organiser. She founded Work In Startups, a platform that helps startups hire rockstar employees.
